Our Impact

Making A Difference in Our County

University of Georigia Cooperative Extension is working hard for its constituents. The following are examples of Extension's impact on the county over the past year.

Putnam County Extension provides research-based information to agricultural and horticultural producers, foresters, and homeowners.  We also provide soil and water testing services, along with onsite consultations to help Putnam County citizens solve the problems they face.  Putnam County 4-H conducts approximately 33 monthly in-school educational programs, and  4-H hosted a County Project Achievement speech competition, where 393 youth presented classroom demonstrations.  Putnam 4-H also hosts six after-school clubs: science, engineering, Adventure Club, Munch & Move, Snack N Chat, and Unplugged Club.  4-H'ers participated in Project Achievement, consumer judging, 4-H Day at the Capitol, State Council, Fall Forum, Junior Conference and camp.
